Question ID
Mujtahid Name -- None --
Question I have a confusion about Farz Rakaat of all Prayers. One of my friend says that we only have to read the Farz of all prayers and we will be asked by Allah only about Farz and not about Sunnah and Nafal. and he dont even read Witar in Isha prayer. But i believe that Isha can not be completed with out reading Witar. As we are told that in Fajar we cant leave 2 Sunnah. In Zohar Farz Rakaat are 4 sunnah, 4 Farz, and 2 Sunnah. And we can leave 2 Nafal. Please answer this question and tell me in detail that how many Rakaat are Farz for all prayers and what Rakaat we must have to offer.
Answer Note : Is website per fiqha e jaffaria k mutabiq jawabaat diay jatay hein. It is obligatory to perform the following five prayers during day and night: • Dawn prayers (Fajr) - 2 Rakats. • Midday (Zuhr) and Afternoon prayers (Asr) - each one consisting of 4 Rakats. • Dusk prayers (Maghrib) - 3 Rakats and Night prayers (Isha) - 4 Rakats. (Ref:Ayatullah Sistani(d.b), Tauzihul masail, Maslah# 717) There are many Mustahab prayers which are generally called Nafilah, These are not obligatory but more stress has been laid on the daily Mustahab prayers. The number of the Rakats everyday excluding Friday, is 34. It is an follows: • 8 Rakats Nafilah for Zuhr • 8 Rakats Nafilah for Asr • 4 Rakats Nafilah for Maghrib • 2 Rakats Nafilah for Isha • 11 Rakats Nafilah for Tahajjud (Namaz-e-Shab) • 2 Rakats Nafilah for Fajr As an obligatory precaution, the Nafilah for Isha prayers should be offered while sitting, and therefore its 2 Rakats are counted as one. But on Friday, 4 Rakats are added to the 16 Rakats of the Zuhr and the Asr Nafilah, and it is preferable that all these 20 Rakats are offered before the Zuhr sets in. (Ref:Ayatullah Sistani(d.b), Tauzihul masail, Maslah# 752). (Khuda aap ki tawfiqaat mein izafa farmaye)
